DESCRIPTION & COMPOSITION
This traditional and very simple chalet known as "Bakukova chalupa" makes an ideal holiday accommodation for families and larger groups, especially for the adventurous who are interested in nature, hiking, skiing, tourism, cycling, recreation and relaxation. This original cottage dates from 1832 and is located near the village of Malá Úpa. Situated on a slope, it offers a magnificent view of the valley and surrounding ridge of the Giant Mountains. Horní Malá Úpa, 1108 meters above the valley of Malá Úpa, is a typical mountain village with a pristine flora, flowered meadows and pastures, rich forests, crystal clear water and plenty of wonderful mountain air. The center of the village (with a restaurant) is just 500 meters away. For tourists, Pomezní Boudy, in the upper part of the village, is a popular border crossing to Poland. The highest point of the village is Sněžka at 1602 meters while the lowest is 720 meters. Striking buildings and beautiful landscapes are the major attraction for thousands of tourists and sports fans in both summer and winter. Because of its location, high up in the mountains, the house can be difficult to access by car at certain times of the year (depending on the weather and snow in winter). In times of inaccessibility there is a secure parking lot within walking distance (800 meters). Enjoy plenty of unspoiled nature and experience the adventure of the Giant Mountains!
Chalet "Bakukove chalupa" is ideal for families and larger groups who do not require luxurious accommodation. This large house (with 4 bedrooms) offers comfortable accommodation for up to 12 persons. The layout of the house is as follows. On the ground floor there is a hall; kitchen (fully-equipped including all utensils, an electric stove with oven, kettle, fridge, etc); a bathroom with shower, two sinks and a toilet; a living room that also serves as a dining room and extra sleeping space (2 beds); a small bedroom furnished with three single beds; a double bedroom furnished with three beds (1 double bed, 1 single bed and 1 guest bed); and a storage area for skis and bikes. The attic has a large bedroom furnished with 2 double beds and 2 guest beds; a small bedroom suitable for 2 persons, and another storage area. All bedrooms are heated by way of a wood-burning stove. On the natural terrace (equipped with garden furniture) you can enjoy beautiful views of the valley and surrounding mountain ridges. Because of its location, high up in the mountains, this house can, at times, be difficult to access by car (depending on weather and snowfall in winter). In times of inaccessibility there is a secure parking area within walking distance of the house (800 meters). Enjoy plenty of unspoiled nature and experience the adventure of the Giant Mountains!

CADRE DU LOGEMENT ET ACTIVITÉS
Norní Malá Úpa is one of the few traditional villages in the Giant Mountains which has been preserved in its original state. Typical mountain chalets, flowered meadows and pastures, rich forests, crystal clear water and wonderful mountain air attract visitors of all ages who are looking for a quiet holiday amidst beautiful natural surroundings. Malá Úpa is situated just a stone's throw from the highest point in the Czech Republic - Snezka. The location of Malá Úpa, on a ridge of the Giant Mountains, means you have plenty of opportunity for hikes and interesting excursions, mostly to Snezka. Those who are not overwhelmed by the wilderness of the Czech side of the Giant Mountains can head to the undiscovered Polish side of the mountains. Horní Malá Úpa is not only great for skiing, cross-country skiing and sledding, it also has wonderful aprés-ski possibilities. From Horní Malá Úpa you can branch out in all directions! Within a walking distance of 500 meters you will come to the nearest cross-country trail and a ski lift (Habrovka, ski park of U kostela, Michaela ski lift). Not far away you will find the ski bus to Pomezní Boudy - ski park U kostela - Spáleny Mlyn - Pec pod Snezkou (free); a sled for children (at the house); and plenty of opportunities to ski and even take ski lessons. In Pomezní Boudy you can enjoy a sauna, swimming pool, solarium and massage. This area is famous not only for its ski center but also for its numerous possibilities for hiking, cycling, mountain biking, horseback riding, shopping, swimming, eating and relaxing. Thanks to its high elevation you can enjoy fantastic excursions along the crest, which provide for wonderful views of Snezka, the highest peak in the area. You can take a special bus ("cyklobus") from Harachov to both the Czech and Polish side of the Giant Mountains. The dense network of cycling paths will surprise you. There are also numerous restaurants and supermarkets in the area.
