DESCRIPTION & COMPOSITION

Gite " Le Colonel " is the guesthouse of a medieval Bastide. It is set in a rural environment in the hamlet "les Barras", being part of the commune Vesseaux. Vesseaux lies 5km north of the Aubenas, in the midst of the Ardeche.
The Ardeche is a department in the south-east of France, located in the region Rhône-Alpes, close to the Provence and the Rhone valley.

Division of the gite:

* sitting area with double sofa-bed * basic, fully fitted kitchen with fridge and gas stove * dining area * bathroom with shower, bidet and washbowl * toilet * mezzanine with double bed + 1 extra single bed if required.
* a cot is available (at request) * terrace with morning sun * shady, fenced garden * use of swimming pool in the backyard (4x9 m)

To bring along:

* bed linen for double bed at the mezzanine: duvet cover, pillow cases and fitted sheet (duvet cover: 200x200cm, mattress: 140x190cm) * bed linen for the extra bed at the mezzanine: duvet cover, pillow case and fitted sheet (duvet cover: 200x140cm, mattress: 90x190cm) * bed linen for sofa bed downstairs: duvet cover, pillow cases and fitted sheet (duvet cover: 200x200cm, mattress: 145x200cm) * tea cloths, dish cloths, towels * all beds have flannel bottom sheets.

CADRE DU LOGEMENT ET ACTIVITÉS

The charming house lies on a hill, on the edge of the 'Parc Naturel Régional des Monts d'Ardèche' and overlooks the Valley of Vesseaux. The Aubenas area has a unique Mediterranean climate. In the West protected from depressions by the Tanargue mountains and the Massif Central, in the North protected from the cold Mistral by the Col d'Escrinet. Due to the hilly landscape there's more rain than in the south of the Ardeche, making the area less dry and much more forested.

Distance to the village Vesseaux is 1500 meter, offering an excellent bakery, a small super market, a butcher, a doctor and a 'cave cooperative' (wine shop). It is possible to go by bike, the altitude difference from the village to the house is 100m.

The hamlet 'les Barras' lies in the midst of a lovely forested mountain bike and hiking area, with plenty of cherish and peaches orchards as well as sweet chestnut woods. The view of the Ardeche valley and the Tanargue-mountains is magnificent.

The 'Parc Naturel Régional des Monts d'Ardèche' is a forested nature reserve at save distance (25km) from the crowded touristic centres around Vallon Pont-d'Arc.

Aubenas with its charming ancient centre lies at 5km from the house on a hill alongside the river Ardeche. More characteristic villages in the neighborhood are Antraigues, Vogüé en Balazuc.

The rental price is for 1 week and includes gas, water and electricity.
Final cleaning is not included: 50 euro, to be settled on the day of arrival to the key holder, mrs Guimarès.
